That would require a ret con that she isn't dead, and alex ashford didn't take DNA from her embalmed body.

But hey Resident evil has had sillyer shit in it then, JK NOT REALLY DEAD.

Honestly, if they made it to where the woman is a clone of Veronica Ashford derived from the preserved remains or is some unseen Ashford relative trying to restore the family line and its prestige, it would be one of the more realistic story lines in Resident Evil.

I'll be honest, I would love to have more about Edward Ashford's backstory explored in the series.

From what I can tell, the few things we do know about him sort of implied he was the "token good guy" among Umbrella's founders and he honestly just wanted to run a medical company and do legit research.

It was Spencer and Marcus were all into the kooky eugenics and conspiracy nonsense. Edward Ashford just wanted to play video games sell pharmaceutical goods.

One of the fan theories is that Spencer had Edward killed and made it look like an accident since he knew Alexander Ashford would be easier to control.

If they do go the Ashford route (unlikely), I'd maybe tease that she's a clone of Veronica but then it turns out she's just Edward Ashford's granddaughter and that Alexander Ashford had a brother or sister or something.

Is alfred really a clone if he male and the oringal person was female.

I would assume having A XY rarther then 2 X's would make it no longer a clone.

Maybe I am just looking too deep into a game series about the aftermath of a pharm company turned Bio weapons Company that Claim to fame is Zombies, and other monsters that are mostly just accidents.

I got the feeling that Alfred and Alexia weren't so much clones but more like test tube babies and that Alexander used preserved tissues from Veronica's body in the process somehow.

From what I remember, I thought it was pretty much their dad took their great great (whatever other great) grandma's cells and mixed it with his semen or something to create deranged clone twins.

It honestly would be interesting to see more into the higher ups of Umbrella besides two guys who were pretty much "let's become gods of a new human race." With Edward, we could get something beyond two deranged clones like seeing what sort of BS his research leads to despite just wanting to sell drugs to the public. Then again who knows what the mystery lady could be. She could be a Veronica clone or she could just be an original character who could either be a copy of another RE villain or something actually original.

Well, we had the new Umbrella of the RE7 DLC be an anti-BOW PMC, so there's a hook for something like that. As to the Ashford twins, Alexander took a DNA sample from him, mixed it with Veronica's, and then did some editing for boosted intelligence, getting the two fraternal twins, somehow as the result of a zygotic split, which could... theoretically happen if it had two separate nuclei, one XX and one XY, which wouldn't be impossible in RE logic. The dude's still an insane sister-worshipping tranny though.

I like how they seem to be going back to the older lore with Umbrella, rather than having all new antagonists and plot like what they seemed to be doing with 7.

That was one of the things that bothered me about 4 as well, to me introducing all new antagonists and plot into a story feels a bit like cheating, things should always hinge on some degree to what you initially introduce into a story, sort of like how in all the Metal Gear games things always tie back into Big Boss and Outer Heaven somehow, so Umbrella is to Resident Evil what Outer Heaven is to Metal Gear

Otherwise it raises the question of why not just start an all new series and story.

I feel like there's definitely plenty to explore when it comes to the origins of Umbrella and all that.

RE8, Oh no.... we are going to the "too old for this shit" i hope that the game will have skippable cutscenes and great replayability, 7 was shit in that regard.

As for someone of the few people that played RE Umbrella Corps, the whole Nu-Umbrella thing is simply reetarded. There is that Nu-Umbrella that Simmons had, then the blue Umbrella in RE7. The blue Umbrella is supposed to be a group of companies started by scientists from the old Umbrella that grew a conscience after the old Umbrella fall. They are now helping governments in the world basically in defeating zombie outbreaks by developing medicines, tactics and weapons against BOWs (Great, calling your anti-BOW company the same name that basically unleashed the zombie plague all over the world)

The only player left in BOW is the HCF, which was Wesker's employer in REVeronica and the one responsible with the RE7 virus. I just hope that the reason to make the virus was less retarded than Spencer's youth potion, when T-Veronica was the answer all along

Mia was in Chris's way in continuing the Redfield line since Leon's being a dick and Ethan may as well be the only one left for it
I'm starting to see the ending of RE6 in a new light. Chris wanted Piers to be his successor in more ways then one. That scene where we walks out into the sunset as the music swells isn't him returning to the fight but off to find a new mate for Claire.

That would make for some great files. "My anti hemorrhoid formula was a complete disaster not only did it not work it proceeded to turn all 37 subjects into wolf men. I proceeded to lock all of them in my castle's dungeon. I will start work on a cure for their condition once I perfect the hemorrhoid remedy. Edward Ashford." You find the wolf men in the dungeon still so you can guess what happened with the hemorrhoid remedy.

Neo Umbrella was dumb and I can only assume they had that name to be bait for the protagonists for some reason. They were already in Simmon's pocket who worked for The Family (who I hope are never brought up again) so its not like they needed a name to begin with. Blue Umbrella is them trying to own it and take responsibility for their legacy, its not like they can hide their past so why not try and re brand it, not to mention there's no such thing as bad publicity right.

Alfred’s a fucking horrorcow. If he was a real person I could see him getting his own section on the farms

Must be also why he also kept going on about the whole SHE KILLED MY TEAM nonsense. I bet he was hedgeing on them all saving the blood line after being rejected by Leon "No Way Fag" kennedy one too many times.

It really is kinda weird how no one in the RE universe seems to fuck, isn't it? They've all been made into 40 something virgins due to having to fight monsters all the time, it's sad.

I'm ok with the idea of there being a "good" Umbrella in the form of blue Umbrella, I think that's an interesting idea.

For starters it makes the whole thing more believable to say that not everyone who worked for Umbrella was necessarily a mustache twirling villain.

I realllllllly hope they never bring up The Family again as well or anything else from 6 for that matter, I hope Capcom effectively pretends 6 just never happened storywise.

Seeing sherry again was nice, I think it should be more of a Pick, and choose deal with 6.

Take the best elements, and pretend The rest never happened, or just figuments of Ada wongs mind like Agent is.

Yes, Sherry was the best thing about the game.

I've been replaying RE7, this time on PC. It's nice playing it on a machine that doesn't drown out the fucking game (I swear, the RE engine is hell on my PS4), and the extra graphical detail is nice.

I think I'm prepared to say though that the Marguerite boss fight is the scariest fight in the entire RE series. Her design is freaky as hell, with the elongated arms and the weird insect womb. Everything about her is unnatural and creepy in a way the rest of the Baker family simply aren't. There's also the fact that her fight takes place in a dark, dilapidated old house as she stalks you by crawling in and around the house. It's nerve-wracking getting stalked by this giant bug woman as it is but if that weren't enough, you can hear her birthing more bug nests when she's out of your sight. It's a wonderfully scary fight, and I don't think the rest of the series has ever affected me in the way that fight has.

Only the Mercenaries Sherry though. And it will be perfect if you mod in the mini-skirt instead of the mini-jorts. shame that you can't use the Mercenaries costumes in campaign

I actually just replayed RE7 myself serendipitously enough.

I love all the stuff in the houses, especially the main one, there's something very spooky about taking a more everyday with everyday items laying about home and turning into a Resident Evil nightmare.

But that section on the boat just sucks, pure filler, all the house environments are surprisingly small and I wish there was more to them instead of the boring boat section.

What's there that's good in the game is great, there just isn't quite enough of it.

I also finally played the main two DLC episodes Not a Hero and End of Zoe, Not a Hero is pretty blah, but does at least reveal what the deal with blue Umbrellas is, End of Zoe is pretty good though, punching the monsters is badass and very amusing, there's something very funny about just putting up your dukes when confronted with a Resident Evil monster.

Dang, I never even knew about this.

You're making me want to reinstall a game I never thought I'd touch again just for this, lol.
