First:

I'm starting to feel singled out and picked on. None of you are going to rat me out to the forum admin are ya?
Second, a thank you to @Koby_Fish
PORN!
(or i mean... so i've heard)
Nobody is critiquing that stuff for its plot or special effects or world building (save the porn critic - RIP) it's all about whether the main thrust of the action gives the viewer the dopamine hits they want.

It finally "clicked" for me. What piece of art would you describe as "ignoring" consistency, plot holes, blatant failures, etc etc and ONLY focusing on dopamine hits as a MAIN feature of it?I'm getting tired of Bob's trite, galaxy-smoothbrained take that "It doesn't matter whether the script is consistent or whether there are plot holes or blatant failures of suspension of disbelief/mass contradiction/cognitive dissonance in a movie/TV show/etc, because IT DOESN'T REALS and all that matters is MUH DOPAMINE HITS, FRIENDO!" Sure, it's great if a story elicits emotional response, but why shouldn't it also at least make INTERNAL sense within its own world? I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

THAT is who Bob is as a media critic.
He grades everything he watches on the same level as PORN.
