Speaking as a Canadian that acknowledges the Elizabeth II as my (figurehead) sovereign, I consider her the only member of the royal family worth a damn. I imagine the primary reason that some Americans are enamored with them is because they are interwoven with celebrity culture and Meagan's marriage to Harry solidified that. The tributes to him after his death ring hollow in that light.

You've also got Dino Stamatopolous; the higher-ups wanted a darker season 3 for Moral Orel, and when they got exactly what they asked for, they cut down their order by multiple episodes and canceled any future seasons, preventing Dino from fully exploring the concepts he wanted to. Brendan Small got fucked over with Metalocalypse's final season, leaving its story unresolved almost a decade later; never mind that they produced the highest-selling death metal albms of all time, it still got the axe. And of course, we have the most recent example with the cancellation of The Venture Bros. for no discernible reason other than new management unable to see the value in it despite its often glacial production schedule. And that's without getting into the whole Sam Hyde thing.

I guess this is pretty off-topic at this point, but to bring it back to Blobbo's "burn," modern Adult Swim is not the sort of place that would greenlight a show from the Mayo Ghouls anymore, if it ever was. I had not watched Adult Swim for years but after moving and getting talked into an introductory package I started giving it a watch again. Everything that is not old is garbage. Even some of the stuff that approached ok was still kind of shit. I mean they are rerunning Home Movies and Lucy(not a complaint).

Even Eric Andre is kind of shit. I remember it being a lot funnier but he just seems old and the routine is tired.

Lazor Wulf is not just terrible it is lazy and you can smell the cheap.

I do not think the viewers are there for AS anymore. Are teenagers and people in their early 20's watching cartoons late at night or are they gaming, streaming, or watching streams? Probably the latter. Comedy Central's late night schedule kind of hints at it being across the board.
