Tumblr headcanon: uguu look at my smol precious sweet trans boi who needs to be protected and loved <3

I believe it's been pointed out on this thread once before, but the way Tumblrinas draw post-op scars on transmen speaks volumes about how little they actually know about trans people and the process of transitioning.

The large double-incision procedure has begun to fall out of favor in the last five or ten years. Many young trans guys, regardless of cup size prior to transitioning, waited until a combination of testosterone and exercise reduced the breast tissue, then had what is called a "keyhole" procedure done. Not going to get into the specifics of that here, but basically the incision is made along the edge of the areola, resulting in fewer visible scars and less nerve damage.

Also, of course Tumblr's headcanons don't align with his backstory or characterization. I'd bet money on the OP of the drawing not even playing Overwatch at all.

HunterxHunter, for instance, was airing at the peak of social justice's popularity, had a lot of attractive male characters, and it even had trans representation. But the fandom had almost no SJWs. Same goes for Tiger & Bunny, which is also racially diverse in addition to all of the above.
Hunter X Hunter is probably the one of the most complicated and convoluted shonen manga out there. Its power system alone is far more complicated than most other manga's that rely on "Magical Swords that turn into monsters" or "Magical Fruit that give you superpowers". Most of these dorks would drop the manga during the Yorknew City arc where there were tens of chapter amounting to political intrigue and Gon and Killua antique shopping.

The blindness of these schmucks gets me every time.

Sure these are just drawings we're talking about, but the reason people call out racebending fan art is usually because it's just a cover for a race fetish, and stems from an aversion to any really new ideas. Not to mention, a desire to add "diversity" to a character who wasn't white already.

Anyone else notice how "diversity" is now a quality which an individual possesses, and not something which applies to a group?

Anyways, pic related.

There's little rhyme or reason to what fandoms get infected by SJWs.

OK KO on the other hand, doesn't have gay representation or attractive men, but that fandom is swarming with SJWs. I guess they ship tease Enid and Red Action, but it's otherwise not a particularly progressive show. This is also the case with SVTFOE; it's a pretty standard kid show aside from having a female lead.

It's basically all about what the popular blogs on Tumblr like.

Part of it is what they can-to use one of their favorite words- appropriate. Tiger and Bunny has a Canon black gay character who later comes out as trans, so there's no points for them to get from it. These people aren't interested in what they are given, only in what they can take.
They view fiction as a battle ground and see changing characters to trans as denying cis people "the enemy" a character by making these headcanons. It's basically done out of spite, And the idea that representation is zero sum.

Like, none of them gave a fucking shit that in Spiderman homecoming Flash Thompson is Indian, or that MJ is dark skinned. Because that's there, they can't get points for that, like they can for making uwu trans peter.

The artist does realize that only men gain fat in their guts in such a way, right? It's part of learning anatomy to know how males and females gain fat differently, and only males get those beer bellies. Guess the artist failed at making him trans, eh?

IIRC, testosterone/oestrogen can alter body shape and where fat is stored. It's probably a complete accident, but that drawing is not technically incorrect on that part.

It is, however, still retarded.

I've been going through the personal blog of one of the Bikini Armor Battle Damage mods and this chick is nuts. She preaches about how media should be criticized every waking moment while at the same time flipping out when her own views are called out. The BABD mods can dish it out but they can't take it.

She and the other BABD mod may be worthy of their own thread.

To no surprise, her art is very mediocre. If she'd spend all that time improving her art instead of screeching over cartoon girls she'd be Raffaello by now
I've noticed that a number of these kinds of feminists are pretty mediocre with their art in general. Either technically and/or through a lack of imagination.

Her and BABD are amazing in their hypocrisy. They get bitchy over the very definition of breasts on a woman's outfit, yet sing the praises of scantly clad men.

I think this comic shows absurdity of tumblr "brownwashing":

I've always really disliked the arrogant attitude of a lot of tumblr artists, but I particularly dislike those who position themselves as some sort of authority on character design and composition, often editing the work of professionals who make a career off of their art and personal projects and then acting entitled to the original artist's "thanks" for "fixing" their art.
Especially since all they do is clutter the facial features and add detail that doesn't need to be there.

Exaggerated the girl's nose and lips. Totally progressive.

It's both a lack of practice as said and a fear of drawing 'the wrong thing'
When your politics is present in every single thing you do and think you are restricted by it

For example, imagine you draw a thin blonde girl and it comes out fine, but then you think "I have to fill the fat black quota this week" and change it and it looks off and forced

Tumblrinas jerking eachother off about how great the artwork in Steven Universe is adds to the problem. Its resulted in a wave of college students who think that their weird, block-y recolors of Amethyst and Jasper are good character design because "body diversity!1!11!". Things like anatomy, composition, technique, and originality get shunted down to near non-importance.

This is a big part of why Tumblr art styles are so samey. People put the cart before the horse by trying to create a Calarts-y "style" for themselves before actually learning anatomy. The overemphasis on having "muh style1!1!!1" in internet art circles has had a major negative effect on the way this generation views art. In reality, a style is something you're supposed to develop naturally as you become educated in art, not something you copy off of a shitty tv show as a teenager and use as a means to deflect critism on shit anatomy.

Steven Universe also encourages this laziness by not having proper character drawing guides or good storyboards so you have stuff where the characters look like they're eight or super short.
