Dude, Ross has complained at least so many times that this is never happening. He is okay with piracy as needed [IE to play old games or arcade-only games] but piracy doesn't solve this problem.I am all for "Pirate Everything" and "Total Game Company Death" Ross arc, I can already feel it in my bones. He will try and hide his disappointment in the upcoming news videos, but little by little the cracks will show. He put way too much effort and energy into this, it will crush him.
Online-only games are like buying a key to an apartment. You didn't buy the apartment, you just spent the money you would spend on an apartment on the key to it. You have full use of the key and can go to the apartment whenever. Pirating it means someone made a mold of the key and is giving copies away, but you still don't own the apartment.
Shutting down the servers is the property owners demolishing the building and not taking the keys back. You have a key to an apartment you cannot use, because the apartment itself does not exist anymore. Pirating it does you no good because there are no doors to put the keys in, whether they are free keys or not.
That's why SKG is about trying to force companies to at least do SOMETHING, equivalent to giving the key holders a free copy of the building plans [making it so the customers can host their own servers] or other possible options, like making an offline mode [something I can't believe single-player games like The Crew didn't get].
