So do I. At least half the crap that came preinstalled on my phone goes unused, and I prefer not to install apps unless I absolutely have to - even if it means people think I'm the oddball because I don't have SnapChat, Instagram, or whatever the fad app of the moment happens to be. Besides, I find it easier to browse sites on a mobile browser versus downloading a bloated app that may have less functionality and more security issues.I purposely keep my phone as bare bones and minimal as I can possibly get away with
I don't remember what app it was, but one recently required access to my camera and microphone even though what it was doing had absolutely zero need to do so. Shit like this bolsters the perception that phones spy on us as much as possible.Esp when some shitty app wants to get your notifications, location, access to your storage, etc.
Thread tax: I was trying to browse something the other day and I got one of those screens requiring me to accept or reject cookies. It was broken in that whatever option I selected wouldn't close the popup and let me resume browsing the page. Between that and Youtube's latest shenanigans, it's enough to make one long for days when one could web surf without being snooped on or tracked (all that much).
