Finished Code Vein and got the good ending at around 16 hours played. Was good, if a bit annoying at times. The bosses definitely felt less polished than other Soulslikes I've played and devolved into me desperately swinging my sword with a sliver of health left. Had no ideas about the God Eater connection, that's another franchise I own most if not all of and have never actually played.

Anyway, after a short cooldown period my next single player game is gonna be Halo 2. Played it some when I was a teen through Games for Windows Live but can't recall ever beating it.

I have been playing and really enjoying The Alters recently (about halfway though my first playthough). It definitely has a stronger focus on dialog and characters than survival like frostpunk but I am really enjoying the writing and am super invested. The game also has time limits and resource management but that hasn't been much of an issue except early on when one of my Alters does something REALLY FUCKING RETARTED at the absolutely wrong time. Other than that as long as you are sort of optimize and take advantage of every day the chapter allows you, you won't be hurting too much. Anyway, highly recommend it if you want a story dense sci-fi game.

In addition to Halo 2 (which is.. fine. I imagine having nostalgia for it would make it more than just a decent but dated shooter) I picked up a game called Ixion, which essentially seems to be Frostpunk in space, and for the first time in a good long while I experienced the phenomena of looking away from my clock and when I looked back several hours had passed while playing it. Game is right up my alley and so far it is very very good.

I’ve only seen screenshots of Date Everything and it’s abysmal. Memes that got tired ages ago, “haha do you get this reference??”, millennial humor…it comes off as a “joke” that long overstays its welcome.

This guy could be acceptable if he was in a different game.

This game is $30 on most platforms. Not a king’s ransom like a lot of games are becoming, but still not worth it.

this game is pretty much a template for everything I hate, a lot of Indieshit on Steam adopts this VN-style gameplay loop and it sucks

This has everything I despise in a game that caters to the people i despise.

Gaming really was better before trying to pander to everyone.

Decided to do something a bit different. Since Blizzard has their summer sale, bought both D2 Ressurected and Starcraft remastered. These two games were my favorite when released.

Since i’m going to be home alone starting Tuesday, figured it would be the perfect time to game like it’s 2000. Dust off my Tool and Korn MP3.

I’ve been playing this too. I felt the same way about it not being too stressful managing and acquiring resources, UNTIL the end of act 2 where it feels like there some insane crunch demanded. After going back a few days to try different build priorities and things(including starting over again from the very beginning with a better grasp of the mechanics) I finally got it and I think I’m in the home stretch now. Fun game so far and the Alters are all pretty unique and interesting, I feel like multiple runs are required to see the effects of different combinations of Alters though. I’m curious to see how it all ends.

Beat Halo 2's campaign and I was not impressed. Most stages felt like you were supposed to run through as fast as possible and avoid fighting, and when you weren't doing that you were locked in an arena waiting for slow waves of enemies to appear or hunting for the one grunt hiding in a corner to kill to progress. Focusing fully on Ixion now, restarted after getting most of the way through chapter 2 and realizing all the stuff I did wrong.

I just want to say that it’s great that Stellar Blade is received widespread critical acclaim on PC and I’m really glad that the game is finally on Steam, because I can now play it on my Steam Deck. It will be the first triple AAA game that actually deserves the $60 worth paying for, and I can’t wait to get around to playing it in full.

The phone(y) character in particular looks like an absolute African landwhale, and were I the protagonist of this Not Hatoful Boyfriend, I would've smashed the objectophilia glasses to pieces - and my phone, while I'm at it.

Reminder: this game attracted the same professional wordvomitorium that praised the most important feature in Baldur's Gate 3 everyone's still talking about: fucking a bear.

EDIT: ...oh god no, Jim Turdling co-wrote it. And it has, like, a million union voice actors in the credits... someone, quick, defund Big Faggotry and let this industry date a fucking chainsaw.
