I've been playing Everspace 2 and no other game has had me swing so wildly between loving and hating it. On the one hand it scratches the spaceship action/RPG itch and has a servicable story, but on the other the dev insists on putting in boatloads of janky "puzzles" that devolve into tedious scavenger hunts for hidden items in massive 3D environments 99% of the time. The argument tends to be "but they're optional" which is true most of the time even though the main story forces some on you too, but that doesn't stop it from being retarded to make you space dogfighting game 30% dogfighting and 70% terrible puzzles.

is lords of the ring online worth getting in to?
If you like the setting and questing, yes. The Moria expansion is one of my favourite MMO expansions to this day.

After suddenly remembering the game existed last summer, I went and downloaded Rogue Galaxy off the PlayStation Network to play through again. Hasn’t touched it since the game first came out. This time I’m actively trying to do all the bonus stuff rather than just go straight through the story without really learning about or interacting with the side content.

Pretty good so far. I would t say it’s anything incredible, but it’s a solid RPG. Animation and graphics are still pretty good too.

It is definitely a solid B of a game. I never beat it but remember enjoying the way you learned skills and grew your characters.

I hope some autist here can help me figure out what TU is. finland.pngfinnishareweirder.jpg

The second is SMITE, a MOBA made by Hi-Rez Studios. I never was one for MOBAs, but I was thinking about getting into this one; question is, is the game itself any good?
never played it, but remember way back some opinions that it's actually ok, and since it's not hi-rez flagship game the b-team actually puts some effort in it. however that was years ago so no idea if they've ruined it by now since the hi-rez curse is a matter of when, not if.

it's a game from 2006, so comes with all the good and bad of that era. but like @EmpGulcasa said atmosphere and questing is pretty good if you're into middle-earth (or was at least, I stopped playing in 2011), and being that old means no wokeshit unless they went back and injected it into content that's over a decade old at this point.

apparently there's rumors about a graphical update floating around and they're still doing expansions for it, so who knows. probably wouldn't pick it as my daily driver since linear progression MMOs can fuck right off.

Just beat Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Great game. I find it hard to elaborate further as I thoroughly enjoyed the story (which definitely got to me a few times), gameplay (which I definitely raged a few times at, having played on hard mode) and the graphics (which seem timeless, they'll age as good as Viva Pinata.)

Hard recommend, I bought it for 12 bucks over the winter sale.

Also beat Scars Above semi-recently, which was also a good game but after having beat Kena it's not at the top of the novelty chart anymore.

Been playing Chained Echoes for a while now. The combat system is pretty cool. I really like the overdrive mechanic and I'm loving the relative freedom for character builds. The story is alright so far, and it's a very pretty game with some nice music. Really seeing the influences of a lot of the JRPGs I grew up playing in it and I'm actually excited to see where the game goes next.

If you can stomach one million eye grating promotion skins that Hirez keeps adding it shouldn't be that bad, Smite is awkward in a way because it is kinda like LoL, being extremely formulaic for most of the time, the two biggest archetypes of a character being someone with one offensive skill, utility skill and mobility tool with a random ultimate ( Medusa, Discordia ) or a complete all-in character, who has zero mobility but full skill set to wreck the enemy team if you don't target them down ( Zeus ), but at the same time being action game in third-person they can occasionally tread waters in their own way, like multi stance characters ( Tiamat, Ullr ), no mana/alternative resource management ( King Arthur, Yemoja ) or being 100% crowd control immune ( Jormungandr ), also playing tanks is very fun, because they get the most unhinged skill sets and on occasion slowly power creep without anyone noticing.

Just tried to play Warhammer 40K Boltgun after seeing clips and thinking it looked excellent. What a let down.

I'm not sure if Turbo Overkill has ruined me on other boomer shooters but I just did not enjoy it at all. The main gun being punchy was probably the only saving grace for the game. The level design was terrible and repetitive with boring hallways linked by identical looking boxy rooms, the music was forgettable at best and inappropriate at worst, and it has these purge sections every 5 minutes where you get locked in an arena to fight slowly spawning waves of enemies that can literally appear right on top of you and these sections are tedious and annoying and they happen CONSTANTLY.

Glad I could refund it at least.

MASSIVE HAPPENING: the TF2 item servers have been down for longer than 12 hours.

didn't they reach gondor by now or something? you could argue that it's someone from the south coming up etc.
some darker shade of pixels doesn't trigger me if it's just more choice for the player, not a replacement.

They reached Gondor years and years ago, before they even added Mordor. I know they were added as choices for Breeland humans though. There's also heavy talk of allowing dark complexions in elves. But I dipped out of the game when they added premium races you had to pay extra for like the High Elves. Prior to that it was one of my favourite MMOs of all time, the sheer comfiness of the shire zones is unmatched, the actual respect to the source material, I recommended it to a lot of friends. Them adding africans and vitiligo to the game is just more reason for me not to go back.
