This forum has entertained me for many months as I read all of your posts as the silent guest along the wall. I have watched as the trickle of sequel trilogy sewage has continued to increase and is now a fire hose. Star Wars was one of the most important parts of my childhood and now I relish in the destruction we are witnessing.

The blocking of the forum forced me to finally join and now as we are about to hit the "big day" as they say, I must take part and my hat is now in the ring.

Based on what is being revealed tonight this will be as shallow, incompetent, cheap and terrible as we all hoped. I feel as if we are witnessing the Disney super star destroyer crash into the Death Star and the Rebel fighters are inside the Death Star as we speak. The alarms are blaring!

Dreams really do come true... The next few days will be ones for the books my friends.

Yeah I talked about this before. Ahsoka is definitely in the film in some capacity as either a voice or a ghost. Rumor has it its Brie but some say its her original VA. Its hard to tell. Space Aladdin's voice is also said to be around.

I thought Ahsoka was supposedly slated for a different (standalone?) film, but what does anyone know at this point when it comes to SW ?

The dumbest part of this isn't Brie Larson being considered over VA Ashley Eckstein for the part, but the fact Ahsoka is apparently going to be a voice/ghost in Episode IX. First of all, we have her quote to Vader in Rebels where she states very emphatically, "I'm no jedi!" If her voice appears as that of a past Jedi in Episode IX, it's yet another example of Disney failing to keep its own canon consistent.

Of course, the other question that gets raised is that if Ahsoka is a Force voice, does this imply she's now dead? Dave Filoni can't be too happy about the possibility that Disney has suggested his waifu is dead in the ST era... ditto for Ahsoka spergs.

So yeah....We can now say with 100% certainty that Disney officially fucked this up worse than Lucas did with the prequels.

It's beyond that, if the concept is even possible. NGL, a fuck-up sounds like it would be an improvement over this abomination.

You're not the only one. I've seen SW fans abruptly stop discussing the franchise or even the aspects they still liked or enjoyed with zero announcement. They simply drop out of touch and don't respond to messages or other attempts at interaction. I can't blame them, even if I think that hating the entire franchise gives Disney too much control over them. I'll still enjoy the SW content I like and treat the rest as low-grade fan fiction that can be safely and easily ignored.

If it wasn't that the film was shot before the interview, I'd question if this was payback for BDW's genderfluid controversy where people thought he was before he clarified his comments with the most based way possible to say "LOL no!"

Given the poor quality of most of today's films, the threshold for being Oscar-worthy is probably quite low.

I honestly feel that this line is perhaps the most pervasive and hard hitting we have had in this sphere of media this decade. Sure it's been said before, but this is the most concise and quotable version to every be created. It will hopefully outlive us all.
I also love how it makes people seethe because it's hard to actually debate when it's brought up.

Just noticed this part from the leaked plot.

They get there, Rey goes in the ship and finds a white room, it's Kylo's room, then Kylo on Kijimi sense Rey and boom! A force bond happens, Kylo says "we didn't have one for some time, how much it was? A year? " and attacks Rey, during their fight Rey destroys Vader's helmet and Kylo goes nooo, then Rey senses Chewbacca on the ship and cuts the force bond, Kylo says to prepare his ship and get there. On the ship General Pryde is contacte by Sidious via hologram and tells him to blow up Kijimi to show his loyalty to him as Pryde worked for Sidious 30 years ago before the Empire fell.They do it though troops tell him supreme leader Ren is still there and he says it doesn't matter, Kylo leave Kijimi before it's blown up and he is very angry

Finally I understand the whole bullshit surrounding this completely terrible scene with even worse choreography that I couldn't find any info about till now.

I could forgive NJO if they hadn't destroyed so many of my favorite planets and killed so many characters. I mean they even thought about killing Kyle Katarn at one point and that's just unforgivable to even think of such a thing. Also I wanted Anakin Solo to be the next gen of Chosen One and fight his brother... I had so many beefs with NJO, but now those beefs feel like nothing compared to Disney... Just fuck my shit up. Disney how could you fucking do this?!

Nah, killing Anakin Solo was a great idea. First, it was a genuinely unexpected plot twist and raised the stakes. I hate unnecessary and contrived character deaths (Luke in The Last Jedi), but Anakin went out like a badass on a suicide mission, and it's war. That shit happens. Second, it allowed Jacen to become a sort of unexpected hero, and he ultimately ended up a much different character to Anakin Skywalker and Luke. Anakin Solo was getting sort of interesting in the very last book he appeared in, but it wasn't as good as Jacen's already existing characterization (pacifist and gentle soul in crisis, forced to grow up; it was such a great continuation of YJK's version of Jacen and showed how serious things were getting) and it certainly doesn't compare to his character development in Traitor. Third, the books made a very good point that the Jedi putting so much faith into one guy from one lineage would be their undoing, and sometimes things go wrong. It was almost commenting on the fact that Luke's NJO was dangerously close to repeating the same mistakes of the old Order, where they put their faith in Anakin Skywalker and he fell to the dark side. It did this all much better than TLJ did it.

On a less spergy note, it cannot be overstated how disastrous it is that they brought bringing people back to life to Star Wars. They may not have went down the time travel route like people were predicting, but they sure as hell went for the equally bad other option.
