No article yet as this just happened, but could be big. One of the largest bridges in the world according to Wikipedia.

I don't really get the apathy by some in this thread. not specifically due to the deaths (they are minimal) but because surely the bridge collapse will absolutely screw that area and have a ripple effect on the economy.

Anyway, stonetoss made a comic of it.

EDIT : turns out someone already posted it earlier in the thread via a link, but I missed it. Ah well.

8,000 people die every day in the US. Do your hearts bleed equally for all of them? Why are these 6 so special?
Retards from the other side of the planet that come from a society stuck in the bronze age can just cause a fuckup that kills people and further ruins the economy of a country that's not even theirs, and everyone else is just kind of fine with it, even though it's yet another economic disaster that's going to make all our lives just a little bit harder, at a time when hopelessness is rife. Talk about how these people are quite literally invaders anywhere else, and you'll be exiled and ostracized. At a job? Fired. Even here, you'll catch some flack from a handful of retards that'll whine about your political sperging, entirely because it doesn't line up with their own politics.

That is why I care. A foreign menace laughs in my face as the rope around my neck tightens, and there is no way out.

The 4channers have started to try and unstack the shells and the 1st one is Grace Ocean Private Limited
I posted this in the Houthi thread or something, but for anyone that missed it
  • single ship company
  • managed by a "separate" company
  • operated by a third company
  • leased to a large carrier
Welcome to 21st century global shipping where the name of the game is low cost and limited exposure.
Spare me the plight of the commuters. I'm more concerned about the crabs.
Well, Baltimore is still dumping untreated sewage out of their under-maintained wastewater plants. A non-nuclear explosion in the kiloton range would be a net positive for the upper bay ecology.

I have absolutely no faith in that bridge going back up. Baltimore was a corrupt-to-the-core shithole before that crash, now it's a corrupt-to-the-core shithole without a functional harbor. Oh, they'll tear a few dozen billion dollar checks for projects to put the bridge back up, but 80% of that money will go straight up the noses of the politicians in charge of the failed city that oversaw the disaster to begin with. The people in charge only see disaster as an opportunity to grift money and seize power through regulation.
Nobody is going to talk about entire cities being blown away by a soft breeze in China ever again.
And there's no liveleak anymore to remind dumb Americans that Chinese escalators hunger for the blood of their celestial creators.
Why does this gay Turkish half-bong-abomination get to escape the perils of a Romanian prison to effortlessly grift off of low-IQ mutts while Coach Red Pill dies of pneumonia in a filthy Ukranian pig sty listening to a glowie troon as he jerks off to his dying gasps? We truly live in the cursed timeline.

That anyone can even pantomime concern for people living within 100 miles of D.C. is astounding to me. If the cargo ship had instead been carrying a nuclear payload, its benefit to the world would be a net positive.

Spare me the plight of the commuters. I'm more concerned about the crabs.
I mean I'm thankful no innocent civilians got hurt. As someone who's worked construction you kinda expect you might have your last day on the job due to shit going wrong. It could have been a worse disaster now we're just in a shit situation with the ports being fucked.
We really do need an "Edgy" rating.
I want my notifications of ratings damn it. I missed when I knowingly wanted notifications.
@Null bring back the ability to know if I'm being negrated damn it. I enjoyed it and it got taken away by Dumb A&N users.
What kills me beyond the "Swiss cheese model of failure" that was surely at work here was that this container ship 1) lost power at just the right time, 2) hit the support strut at just the right angle, and 3) struck said strut with just the right amount of force for this bridge to completely collapse at the center. The odds of that happening must've been a million to one. I can see why some people are saying this might be terrorist related or some manner of cyber attack (since everything is run on computers nowadays).

Can you imagine what the average ISIS fighter or Somalian pirate might be thinking right now? Hey, it worked for the 9-11 hijackers.
It's called Murphy's law and I tell people what can go wrong will go wrong.
Lets be real here. If the only lives lost were six senators or corporate CEO's and their expensive escorts I can see this tragedy as being funny. Much like how the OceanGate tragedy was funny and ironic to many people as the only lives lost were members of the WEF. However, the lives lost here were six average Joes just doing their blue collar job. I reserve my schadenfreude to people who actually deserve it.
This is just a rare tragedy and something I think we have to accept happens and we should learn from it so we can make these less frequent. It sucks for the working joes but you know what's in store with a construction paycheck.

When a portion of I-95 collapsed in Philly a while back people talked like it was going to be a traffic nightmare forever but they put that shit back up in like a weekend. A massive bridge over water is obviously harder but feds can still get shit done when they want to expedite it.

I was expecting some retarded take from the anticar crew to come out, and /n/ came through with this nugget before the bodies went cold:

Talk about working fast considering the water temperature.

As to the actual event itself... what's there to say? Pajeet crew and a line of ownership that's looking like the mother of all matryoshka dolls and 4chan's barely gotten started.

Yeah, construction is one of the more deadly jobs in America from what I hear. I take it the reason why a lot of construction is now done at night is to lessen causalities when on the job as less vehicles are out at night. Sucks for those workers that a ship collided with the bridge but it is kind of par for the course that anything can happen when working in construction.

The crew was from Sri lanka, India, and Bangladesh. As for the ship it was an older maserk style ship and probably near the end of its lifespan.
The cargo ship is owned by Grace Ocean Private Ltd. A Singapore based company who underpaid the crew, didn't maintain their ships or buy new ones.

Penny pinching motherfuckers will have hard time finding businesses calling them after normies and companies know who destroyed their historical landmark

Does anyone have any details on who the crew was that crashed the ship into the bridge, or what was even going on there?
Not sure what you're asking. It was apparently 22(?) Pajeets possibly with a ... What's the slur for Ukrainian again? Captain.

No word on if the ship had a local pilot escorting them out of the area, apparently that's standard but the Tugboats that escorted them away from the port left pretty quickly, and I'd presume the local boy would have left with them.

Boat (and crew?) has a history of bumping shit, apparently, and there are boat vets and boat autists in the thread earlier suggesting that you couldn't wish a worse crew on a ship than a bunch of Pajeets. (As an IT drone, I fully agree. Can't imagine a worse time.)

>This is still your country
I'll never really understand this line of reasoning. If "your country" can express absolutely nothing but disdain for you is it still "your country?" It would be like me wearing a yellow shirt and getting stabbed by someone also wearing a yellow shirt and then being bumbed out that he got hit by a car afterwards purely because he was part of the yellow shirt club.

A ship commandeered by Pajeets hired for cheap, ram into an old bridge and kill cheap illegal tacos hired for cheap and dodging OSHA regulations in a city ran by corrupt gay nigger in a state ran by a corrupt gay nigger.

Not even the 1920s Klan could write this kind of believable fear porn about the future of America.

No. The pilot stays with the ship until it leaves the navigation channels. With how shallow the Chesapeake is that puts them all the way down to around the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
