Saints Row thread

Quit with the faggy "you have a different opinion from me, therefore you didn't even play the game." Also check the time stamps, I made that post where I'm supposedly "saving face" literally seconds after you made yours. I wish I could type that fast, but I very clearly wasn't even talking to you.
I'm not the one corncobbing in this thread because they didn't remember you can drive down the wrong way everywhere they go or just shoot dudes to get respect without any real issue. I'm also not the person who clearly forgot that several level 1 activities were still forced on you in the third game. You only have yourself to blame on those, especially when others in the thread pointed out the same things before me.

I could be bugging but I swear they disabled getting headshots while in vehicles in 3.
The Hadokuden style of carjacking in the Third was quite funny.

The changes to the Respect System in 3 weren't great either. Oh, you want to be able to dual wield SMGS? Well, you gotta reach Level 15 and pay $20,000 for that first, disregard that you could do that right off the bat in SR2.
I remember Saints Row the Third had an RPG like system. You needed respect to unlock upgrade and cash to buy them. It was inoffensive. Once you reached max respect and farmed a lot of cash through activities, strongholds and (I believe) businesses, you could upgrade your character fully if you wanted. The issue was persisting with the game after the credits rolled.

I just think it's a step down to have to level up and pay for things you could do from the start in 2.

The strongholds were another step-down from 2 now that you mention them. I liked the way you could customise your safehouses in 2. Then in 3, they all have the exact same interior and on the outside the buildings just get a little taller.

Yeah, the Third was basically a streamlined open world game covered in purple. Not bad, just uninteresting through brief observation. It reminded me of cheap action movies with comedy. The comedy I could appreciate, not just action for the sake of it.

New damage control article.
"Customization, layered clothing, and purple are back, guys! Trust us! You'll become gangsters eventually!"

The only way for this game to be redeemed for me is if it's actually a subversive tale about the harsh realities of gang life and one or more of the gang members get brutally executed.

Imagine such a gang but woke. That would actually be a funny idea. Dude can't pay his student loans and becomes a dangerous criminal who kills politicans and members of other woke gangs. In the end he doesn't care about the loans anymore. He just wants power.

That's the only way I can see this concept even remotely work. Four college kids that're in way over their heads get the shit kicked out of them by actual gangs to the point where they have to harden up before they all get Shogo'd out in the desert. Sadly, I doubt that Volition would have the balls to let that one of their characters get Carlos'd, so expect everything to work out perfectly for these spoiled brats.

Also, what's the point of them being a different color if they're going to end up being purple anyway? Just have them be purple all the way through to make them slightly resemble the Saints. Why does everything have to be so fucking tedious with this game?

That sounds awesome but remember it's made for "modern audiences" so it's most likely dumb crap like beating the shit out of Trump supporters, saving a George Floyd lookalike while shouting "Black Lives Matter!!" and hoisten up pride flags.

Whatever it is it's going to be mediocre at best & a steaming pile of wokeshit at worst.

A desert town would be interesting to have a multicultural biker gang, a space alien obsessed cult run by a con man and a Chinese gang focused on real estate development and acquiring land.

Never gonna happen, though.

and they wont even let you shit in the streets
I would've loved to see this game take place in Mumbai, India with all the of the crew being street shitting nobodies, IT help desk drop outs, virtual house niggas for rich caste members, and all of the trappings of a god awful existence.

Then the meet literally anyone from the Saints 1-3 game and get inspired to take up that lifestyle around the insane, wild, packed wall to wall streets of that city. Want a sports game? Put in fucking cricket (T20 rules) and have a blast whaling away on the pitch.

This would be a game I could get behind as all of the protagonists are bottom feeding people who life is going to perpetually shit on until they can take Power from the Powerful by Force.

They are all "brown" too so the woke crowd should love hindu brownskins cause MUH DIVERSITY.

Welcome to Mumbai MotherFucker.

I'm fine with it as a sense of thematic progression.

EDIT:
Not making it clear in the reveal trailer and initial marketing was a mistake, though. They shoulda made everything purple and let the players discover the everything becomes purple thing later.
